Are TCS-eco Products Good for Summer?
The simple answer is yes — but some materials and absorbencies are naturally cooler than others.
Synthetic materials tend to hold more heat than natural fibres. That means products containing a lot of polyester can leave you feeling warmer and sweatier around your vulva.
Let’s be honest: nobody wants a sweaty vagina!
So, how does TCS-eco help?
It comes down to our carefully selected materials, specialist layering and exceptionally thin design. The thicker the absorbent layers, the warmer the product may feel. It is a bit like putting a T-shirt and then three jumpers, on your bits!
Choose the Right Absorbency for the Weather
Our 50ml period pants are a great choice during warmer weather. When you need additional protection, pair them with a regular-absorbency reusable pad.
After around three to six hours, depending on your flow, you can remove and change the pad while continuing to wear the pants. When you would normally change a disposable product every few hours anyway, changing a reusable pad is not a major inconvenience.
The pants provide confidence and backup protection, while the removable pad allows you to feel fresher throughout the day.
Feeling Too Warm? Go Lighter and Change More Often
We offer a wide range of pad shapes, lengths and absorbencies. During particularly warm weather, one of our recommendations is to choose a lighter absorbency and change it more frequently.
Our lightest and most breathable-feeling option is the liner, closely followed by our regular-absorbency pads with a cotton jersey topper.
Cotton jersey is thin, soft and fast-wicking, making it a popular choice for summer use.
Less Synthetic Material, Without Misleading Claims
TCS-eco pads currently contain less than 25% synthetic material, making them one of the lowest-plastic reusable pad options available.
The synthetic materials we do use have an important purpose. They help provide waterproof protection, durability and the long lifespan customers expect from a reusable product.
When brands are not completely honest about the materials in their products, it is reasonable to question what else in their advertising may be inaccurate.
Just saying.
With the right materials, absorbency and changing routine, reusable pads and period pants can remain comfortable, reliable and practical throughout the summer.
